Reaching People & Building the Kingdom

Truth Tabernacle of Praise is an inner-city church serving Stone Mountain and Clarkston, Georgia. Our community is home to over 120 nationalities with over 52 language groups. Clarkston has been named “the most diverse square mile in America” according to the New York Times, and it is only one mile from our church.

We have already seen great results. In 2011, we baptized 49 new believers, and our attendance has gone from 68 to 143—our high Sunday was 160. Many are being individually discipled by members of our congregation, and this is greatly increasing the faith and spiritual maturity of the whole church.

The Challenge

The more people we reach, the greater the need becomes. The poverty rate in our immediate area is 29.3%, which is almost double the rate for the State of Georgia (16.5%). In addition, our unemployment and under-employment rates are much higher than the state and national average. Despite all these factors, the congregation is tithing and giving. 74% of our families tithe. Our Benevolence Team, Food & Clothing Ministry, and Learning Center are overwhelmed with need, and the immediate resources of our church ministry simply are not sufficient to meet the growing urgency.

There are several tangible ways your church can partner in missions with Truth Tabernacle of Praise to reach people and build the Kingdom of God in this inner-city community.

Pray

Please add us to your missionary prayer list. The inner-city ministry is truly a mission field, and the support of our prayer partners is essential in this vital work. Specific needs include the following:

On-Site Missions Trip

Mission 24 is a 24-hour mission trip experience. Not only will you be able to feed the community spiritually through Mission 24, you will feed some families physically. Mission 24 is for all ages that desire to come for an overnight trip. A typical schedule includes an off-site block party on Friday night. Prayer walking on Saturday morning, and Back Yard Bible Clubs on Saturday afternoon; then, it’s back home.

Financial Support

With 120 nationalities and over 52 language groups, the world has come to us, and we are humbly asking you to partner with us in missions to reach and minister to these precious, ethnically diverse people. Currently our 2012 budget has a projected shortfall of $60,000, and we are asking ten (10) churches to partner with us at $500 per month or $6,000 per year.

Since we are less than a day’s drive, you could be in the mission’s field you generously support, and we would love to have you visit.
